The White Man’s Burden

Are you interested in Catholic / Protestant debates and discussions on central theological issues, such as the authority of Sacred Scripture? If so, you’ll likely enjoy listening to this classic debate on sola scriptura I did with a certain Protestant apologist back in 1993.

A lot of folks (several thousand, in fact) have listened to the recording of this debate over the years with great profit. You can download it instantly as an MP3 file here. And, of course, it’s also available as a 2-disc CD set.

You might also want to check out “The White Man’s Burden,” a follow-up article I wrote, discussing this debate, in This Rock Magazine, shortly afterward.

And if you’re interested in exploring my other public debates with Protestant ministers, Mormon spokesmen, and others, you’ll find many of them here. Enjoy.

Thanks for sharing this! I’m surprised that such a flimsy doctrine could exist for so long. It really is a house built on sand, quicksand more like it.

I get soooo many positive comments about this debate when I’m out speaking. I remember listening to it one day while doing laundry. My washer and dryer got an ear full while I played laundry room quarter back for you.

The year is now 2019 – June 12th in fact. I love listening to the Patrick Madrid Show and wish I had the time to read all the books he mentions! I read three of his books. Patrick, I’m a parish ambassador and enjoy telling everyone about Relevant Radio. Whenever I see someone with a smartphone, the first thing I say to them, is: do you have the Catholic App Relevant Radio? Most say what? I then show them my app and most times I help them put it on and suggest that when they listen to the program, they send it out to their friends! I tell them they can evangelize without the pressure!

That’s great, George. Thank you for being a faithful listener of the show. And thanks for spreading the word about the Relevant Radio app. I appreciate it!
