Wherein I publicly debate a Pentecostal minister on the Eucharist

For me, the best part of this 1996 exchange was that it took place at the minister’s church before an audience of several hundred people, most of whom were members of his congregation, most of whom (he told me that evening) were ex-Catholics. We also debated the question of sola scriptura. The whole thing lasted about 3 hours and, for a nominal charge, is available  as a digital download. I hope you find it helpful.

Were there any reverts from this debate that you know of?

Good question, Peggy. Although I do hear occasionally from people who did convert to the Catholic Church as a result (in part) of attending some of my debates, or due to listening to the tapes or CDs, I don’t recall anyone specifically telling me this regarding this particular debate. However, because this took place in Auckland, New Zealand, and I returned to the U.S. the week after it took place, I have had a sincere hope that at least some of the folks who attended it in person were moved to come home to the Church.

I purchased this many moons ago and have listened to it many times. A very well done and spirited engagement. Highly recommended for Catholics and Protestants alike.

I agree with Peggy. Patrick, are you able to report any encouraging fruits for the Kingdom?

Interesting debate especially since it shows so little understanding of what the Catholic Church teaches and the reasons behind that teaching.
